A New Look for Ancient Computer

After months of quiet work behind the scenes, the new Ancient Computer is live.

The old layout served me well for years, but it was starting to show its age — and not the charming kind. Navigating the collections meant too much clicking, the publication archive was hard to browse, and on a phone the whole thing was frankly a mess. So I rebuilt it.

What’s new:

A cleaner homepage that actually shows you what’s here — collections, publications, and in-depth artifact posts, all reachable from the front page
A reworked publications archive that’s easier to search and browse
Faster pages and a layout that finally works properly on mobile
A refreshed look that leans into the aesthetic of the machines this site is about

Everything that was here before is still here. Nothing has been removed — it’s just easier to find now.

This site has always been a personal project: one collector’s attempt to preserve hardware, documentation, and software that would otherwise quietly disappear. That hasn’t changed. If you find it useful and want to help keep it going, you can support the work through Patreon, or pick up something from the Etsy and Tindie shops.

Have a look around. If something’s broken or missing, tell me — I’d rather hear about it than not.
