Applicando – La rivista per Macintosh™ was Italy’s longest-running and most influential magazine dedicated to the Apple Macintosh ecosystem. First published in 1985 by Studio Vit and later by Il Venerdì and Gruppo Editoriale JCE, Applicando served as the definitive Italian-language resource for Macintosh users, covering both consumer and professional aspects of the platform for over three decades until its closure in 2014.

Each issue delivered a balanced mix of in-depth product reviews, software guides, hardware tests, user tutorials, news from Apple, and columns on graphic design, desktop publishing, education, and multimedia production. It addressed both beginners and advanced users, with regular features on macOS (and earlier, System Software), as well as coverage of applications like Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress, FileMaker, and Final Cut Pro.

Applicando was particularly valued during the pre-internet era, when Mac users relied heavily on trusted publications for technical support, product recommendations, and insight into Apple’s evolving ecosystem. It also provided Italian translations of key Apple-related developments and tutorials, helping localize the global Macintosh experience for the Italian audience.

Over the years, the magazine adapted to cover iOS devices and the growing Apple ecosystem, but as print media declined and online content rose, Applicando ceased publication in 2014—marking the end of an era for Italy’s Mac community.
