C/C++ Users Journal
C/C++ Users Journal was a respected technical magazine dedicated to the programming languages C and C++. Published from 1981 to 2006, it served as an essential resource for professional programmers, software engineers, and system developers who worked closely with low-level, high-performance code.

Originally launched as C Users Journal by R & D Publications, it focused strictly on the C language during the early years of microcomputer and UNIX development. As C++ gained popularity in the 1990s, the magazine was rebranded to C/C++ Users Journal to reflect the growing importance of object-oriented programming. CMP Media later acquired and published the journal until its closure.

Each issue featured in-depth technical articles, code walkthroughs, algorithms, data structures, compiler techniques, performance optimization strategies, and hardware-level programming insights. Frequent contributors included industry veterans such as P.J. Plauger and Andrei Alexandrescu. The journal was known for its rigorous approach and practical examples, often printing complete, ready-to-compile code listings that addressed real-world development challenges.

It also included regular columns on language standards (like ANSI C or ISO C++), development tools, and emerging practices in systems programming. Though the print edition ended in 2006—its content partly absorbed by Dr. Dobb’s Journal—C/C++ Users Journal remains highly regarded in the programming community for its technical clarity and depth.
