The Toshiba HX-10D(K), released in November 1983, was a Japanese MSX1-standard home computer marketed under the "Pasopia IQ" brand. The "(K)" designation referred to the black-colored version, with additional red and silver variants also available. This model marked Toshiba’s entry into the home computer market, following the MSX1 standard to ensure broad software and hardware compatibility with other MSX systems.

Powered by a Zilog Z80A processor running at 3.58 MHz, the HX-10D(K) featured 64 KB of RAM and 16 KB of video RAM. It used the Texas Instruments TMS9918A video display processor, which supported a 256×192 resolution with 16 colors. Audio was handled by the AY-3-8910 programmable sound generator, capable of three-channel sound output.

The HX-10D(K) included a full QWERTY keyboard and a range of connectivity options, such as composite and RF video outputs, audio out, a data recorder connector, parallel printer port, two joystick ports, a cartridge slot, and an expansion bus. It often came bundled with a demonstration cassette to help users get started.

While not widely distributed outside of Japan, the Toshiba HX-10D(K) stands as a solid and well-designed representative of the early MSX era, reflecting the push for standardized, cross-compatible home computing.
